The Black Russian Terrier, also known as the Chornyi Terrier is a breed of dog created in the USSR in Red Star Kennel during the late 1940s and the early 1950s for use as military/working dogs.

The Black Russian Terrier is a large, immensely powerful worker of heavy bone and coarse all-black coat.

The Black Russian Terrier is a relatively low shedding breed. However, they do have a thick undercoat, which means they shed more than dogs with a single coat.
