  • Overview:

The Australian Cattle Dog, or simply Cattle Dog, is a breed of herding dog originally developed in Australia for driving cattle over long distances across rough terrain. This breed is a medium-sized, short-coated dog that occurs in two main color forms. The Australian Cattle Dog is of moderate build, enabling this breed to combine great endurance with bursts of speed and extreme agility necessary in herding. The typical Australian Cattle Dog doesn’t shed year-round, but instead he “blows” his coat once or twice a year (think of a snowstorm). In just a few weeks, the undercoat sheds in clumps.
